The President's Message

First and foremost, I would like to thank the past Board of Directors 2022-2023 for their unwavering and untiring service to PICE (Singapore) to the best of their ability and capability on the previous year. We congratulate and acknowledge your efforts and voluntarism that took part to where our dearest organization has been placed this moment.

As we move forward to this year’s new roles and responsibilities that our members have entrusted to us, on behalf of the PICE (Singapore) Board of Directors 2023-2024, I would like to request again, every member to actively participate and be present in all our events and activities that the current BODs have been preparing for this year’s term. We encourage you to take your part and be one of us as we embark this new challenge to be an advanced Civil Engineers and be competitive in your field of specialisation as working professional here in Singapore.

This year, you have entrusted to me the opportunity to be at the highest position. I know the year ahead wouldn’t be an easy one as I tried to balance my work, studies, and service to our organization, but definitely I know I am not alone in this journey and know that the current Board of Director’s 2023-2024 is in support and at my back always.

Through the initiation of the Committee on Professional Development, we have lined-up Webinars, Seminars, Trainings, Site Visits and Convention to advance every member in their professional development and practice of civil engineering in their respective specializations. We have invited reliable speakers and experts to share their knowledge and wisdom gained through the years of their experience, to integrate the members in the current trends and technologies and provide all the needed resources to improve and compete internationally.

The Committee on Recreation and Sports is organizing activities that could help members to lift their social wellbeing through participating in sports, tournament, and some other forms of recreational events that could help enhance one’s sportsmanship, athletics, fitness, teamwork, and camaraderie. In addition, we also encourage everyone to serve and give back to the society through volunteerism and community service program.

We aim to broaden our horizon by reaching out to every Filipino Civil Engineers in Singapore to be a member and realise the benefits of being a member through the help and initiation of Committee on Membership. Furthermore, we seek for partnerships and collaborations with other Filipino Professionals here in Singapore to widen and have an exchange of ideas, promote relational benefits to both society and make the purpose of union be advantageous to all members.

Finally on behalf of the BODs, we shall hold paramount the safety, health and welfare of the public and shall strive to comply with the principles of sustainable development in the performance of our duties. We will strive to act with professionalism, integrity, honesty, accountability and serve in good faith.

Last but not least, we will seek GOD’s help and guidance to make these platforms and programmes succeed with fruition. “Whatever we do, we do it all for the glory of God”, 1 Corinthians 10:31.

IPP's MESSAGE

Time flies, and it's hard to believe that a year has already passed since I began my service alongside the previous year's Board of Directors. As we conclude our tenure, we reflect on the privilege we had to make a difference. Looking back, it was a challenging year from the start. The new set of BOD had to navigate the post-COVID transition period, where restrictions were lifted, and we could finally resume our activities. Despite these challenges, we can proudly say that the overall outcome has been successful. We actively participated in PICE National's activities, International Chapter's Conventions, numerous technical seminars, community service initiatives, and even sports and recreational events.

On behalf of the 2023 Board of Directors, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the members who enthusiastically participated in the programs of our humble organization, PICE (Singapore). I also extend my appreciation to the knowledgeable experts who shared their insights in our technical seminars, both online and onsite. The execution of most of our events required various resources, and I want to thank our sponsors for their generous support. All these diverse elements came together because our organization had one common goal - to serve our fellow Filipino Civil Engineers in Singapore.

In terms of career progression, I invite all professionals in the Civil Engineering Industry to register for membership and actively engage with our organization. By doing so, you can leverage our programs and network to advance your professional development, such as obtaining certification as an ASEAN Engineer or other individual benefits.

To the newly elected Board of Directors for 2024, I am thrilled to see the formation of this capable, honest, willing, and fully committed group of officers. I am confident that their leadership will continue the success and even surpass it in all aspects. I encourage all members to remain active, participate, and enjoy the professional growth that our organization offers. As the Immediate Past President and still a member of the 2024 BOD, I will continue to participate and provide guidance for the betterment of PICE (Singapore).

Lastly, I would like to leave you with this statement to inspire our BODs as they lead us this year: "Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out." Let us stay united in achieving the common goals set by the current President. Always embrace the faith of optimism, as it leads to achievement. Seek guidance and wisdom from Him, as He said, "Trust the Lord with all your heart and all your mind, acknowledge Him in all your ways, and He will direct your path straight." Above all, let us do everything for the glory of God.
